Aston Villa have announced the signing of Mahmoud Hassan from Turkish side Kasimpasa.
Known as Trezeguet, the winger has moved to Villa Park for an undisclosed fee, subject to a work visa and international clearance.
Trezeguet is an Egypt international and helped his country reach the last 16 of this summer’s Africa Cup of Nations, scoring once in four appearances.
“He’s the type of wide player that we have been looking for who is direct, causes problems for the opposition in the final third and scores goals,” Aston Villa head coach Dean Smith told the club’s official website.
The 24-year-old, who previously played for Al Ahly and Anderlecht, is Villa’s ninth signing of the summer transfer window.
Trezeguet could make his Premier League debut when Villa visit Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 10 August.
